For the children to learn the names of familiar trees, we had them make special tags made from Yakusugi, which is over 1,000 years old Yaku-Ceder, and had them write the names of the trees.
Then, in the shade of a tree in the corner where the event was held, an environmental learning session was held where Jinshi Terada taught the children how to play with leaves, acorns, and other objects.
The participants were 15 children from the Koshima Children's Association, ranging from infants to junior high school students. The children were never bored and were enthusiastic about playing with natural objects.
