The 39th Yakushima Sidotti Landing Commemoration Festival was held for the first time
as an outdoor event sponsored by the NPO Yakushima Future Works.
Although the preparations were short, we were very grateful to Koshima Ward, who not
only lent us the tent, but also helped set up and take it down, Yakushima Town, who gave us wreaths and offered to oversee the sound equipment, as well as the volunteers,
performers and vendors on the day.
Thanks to the cooperation of many people. We were able to successfully complete the
event.
On the day of the event, we were blessed with truly calm weather, and the event was held outdoors, surrounded by blue skies, mountains, the ocean, and sunflowers, with a
wonderful atmosphere, and approximately 250 people participated, exceeding
expectations.
In particular, “Do! Ys” performed a puppet show called “The Man Who Crossed the Sea'' with the theme of Sidotti's landing on Yakushima, and it was a wonderful performance that stood out against the mountain range in the background.
The smiling faces of many children at the venue, including the Koshima Children's
Association, who participated in environmental education next to the observation tower, added to the fun atmosphere of the event.
Thank you everyone !
