Second Expo Traveling Exhibition Held at Osaka Takamatsu Cathedral – St. Mary’s Cathedral

As part of the series of related events following the symposium “Giovanni Battista Sidotti and Japan” held at the Italy Pavilion of Expo 2025 on September 29, the second installment of the traveling exhibition is currently being held at Osaka Takamatsu Cathedral – St. Mary’s Cathedral (Tamatsukuri Church).

On October 11, a lecture by Tomoko Furui was held in the first-floor conference room of the archbishop’s residence adjacent to the Cathedral, with about 50 attendees. Among them was a woman who had lived on Yakushima more than forty years ago and had been baptized there by Father Contarini. After the lecture, she shared stories about Yakushima from those days.

The traveling exhibition will continue in “St. Paulo’s Room” at Osaka Takamatsu Cathedral – St. Mary’s Cathedral until Thursday, October 23.
