第1回トーク・セッションを開催。「なぜ屋久島」から解く、異文化接触の物語Our First Talk Session"Why Yakushima?" — Unraveling a Story of Cross-Cultural Encounter

記念館ギャラリーでの新しい試みとして、古居智子館長がゲストと語り合うトークセッションを始めました。9月27日（日）15時から16時半まで開催した第1回トークセッションには、山梨県出身で文化人類学を学んだ氏原貴充氏をゲストに迎え、シドッティの生涯を核に、「なぜ屋久島だったのか？」に始まり、屋久島が異文化と向き合ってきた時間、そして現在の島の姿を参加者とともに語り合いました。初回ということもあり、参加者は少人数でしたが、それだけに密度の濃い話を深められました。

As a new initiative in the museum gallery, we have launched a series of talk sessions in which Museum Director Tomoko Furui speaks with invited guests. The first session took place on Sunday, September 27, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Our guest was Takamitsu Ujihara, a native of Yamanashi Prefecture with a background in cultural anthropology. With Sidotti's life at its core, the conversation began with the question "Why Yakushima?" and went on to explore the island's long history of encounters with other cultures and what Yakushima is like today, with participants joining in throughout. As this was our first session, the group was small, but that made for an especially rich and in-depth discussion.
