記念館は屋久島南部の⼩島集落に位置し、北にはマドンナ岳を含む⼭並み、⻄には断崖に砕ける⽩波と、絶景の⼣陽を背景にシドッティが上陸した⼊江が望めます。稲刈り後にはヒマワリやコスモスが⽥んぼを彩り、屋久島ならではの牧歌的な⾵景が広がります。
2024年に建てた上陸地展望タワーは「2024年度かごしま景観⼤賞」を受賞。⽞関上の展望デッキからは360度のパノラマが楽しめます。敷地には屋久島固有種をはじめ南⻄諸島特有の植物・果実を植栽。毎年11⽉23⽇には野外「シドッティ上陸記念祭」を開催しています。

Sidotti Museum sits in the small village of Koshima in southern Yakushima - with the verdant peaks of Mt. Madonna to the north, and to the west, white waves breaking against steep cliffs, the cove where Sidotti first came ashore, and breathtaking sunsets that paint the horizon. After the rice harvest, sunflowers and cosmos fill the paddies with color - a pastoral scene that is quintessentially Yakushima.

Our observation tower, built in 2024, looks out toward Sidotti's landing site and was recognized with the Kagoshima Landscape Award,2024. The rooftop observation deck offers a full 360° panorama of this remarkable scenery. Throughout the grounds, endemic Yakushima species and plants native to the Nansei Islands have been carefully cultivated.

Every year on November 23rd, the open-air Sidotti Landing Festival is held right here on these grounds.
