川崎市立看護大学大学院看護学研究科博士前期課程助産コースに在籍する3名の学生と引率の依田真由子講師が記念館に来館され、古居智子館長によるギャラリー・トークに参加しました。その後は屋久島の鯖節を使ったパニーニやたんかんジュースに舌鼓を打ちながら、助産についてや、屋久島の生活についてなどさまざまな対話をしました。学生たちは、初めて知るシドッティに思いをめぐらせながら、開放的な空間で学び、屋久島の雄大さに触れました。
Three graduate students from Graduate School of Nursing Kawasaki City College of Nursing Master’s program, accompanied by their supervisor, Lecturer Mayuko Yoda, visited the museum to take part in a gallery talk led by Director Tomoko Furui. Afterward, over paninis made with Yakushima mackerel flakes and glasses of tankan juice, conversation turned to midwifery and to daily life on the island. Encountering the story of Sidotti for the first time, the students let their thoughts wander through the museum's airy space, coming away with a lasting impression of Yakushima's grandeur.
